Thanks so much, Nic and Clive, for a wonderful weekend during our time travelling in NZ! Easy to locate at the end of our day’s journey, LongReach was one of the loveliest farmlets we have seen, and your hospitality second to none.

It was a pleasure to wake in the countryside to the sound of the tuis, and enjoy the serenity of the rolling hill country, riverside and natural bush of your small property ... and still be able to do some local “outlet shopping” later in the morning. Talk about the best of both worlds!

Long Reach Homestay - the Barn

The loft accommodation was spacious, but also cosy and comfortable, with a lovely outlook, and we especially enjoyed breakfast on the deck, watching the calves, sheep and chickens go about their day. Your gardens looked a picture ... We couldn’t believe that such a beautiful sight could also provide such delicious treats: what strawberries!
We could hardly bring ourselves to eat the pretty green eggs for breakfast on Sunday morning - but we did, as our afternoon tramp (in the Kiwi vernacular) used up all the extra kilojoules of the wonderful Indian meal we enjoyed in Levin, the night before.

Thankyou for packing the picnic for us ... Not many places will provide that sort of extra service, and it really made a difference to our walk “experience” on Saturday.

Long Rach Barn Stay - Homestay accommodation near Levin New Zealand

LongReach Farm Stay is nestled in the foothills of the Tararua Ranges on a ten acre property in the market garden area of North Manakau, Levin.

We welcome those interested in garden rambles as well as offering family-friendly farm animals to pet and to feed.

We offer comfortable and private loft accommodation in our self-contained modern barn.

Please note: The Barn at LongReach is a smoke-free facility and unfortunately can not accommodate pets.

Location, location, location!

In preparation of a long tramp into the Ranges from the nearby Tararua Forest Park or in need of a reward and rest after one?? Looking for an ideal weekend getaway venue?

Eco-tourism at its best!

Stay the night and enjoy a leisurely start to your day feasting on our fresh free-range eggs, home produce, baking and cereals for breakfast. Picking your own fruit from the home orchard and extensive potager is a seasonal treat that can be easily arranged.

For those who are staying as a prelude before tackling the tracks in the Ranges we can arrange a drop off at the Tararua Forest Park which is a short 1.5 km from the door. The Park is also s uitable for day tramps, short strolls and picnics.

Staying longer?
If you wish to extend your visit beyond a single night, we can suggest a variety of local sights worthy of your time including the amazing beaches of the West Coast that seem to go forever, local shopping that offers everything from weekend markets, factory outlets and designer stores to a huge variety of craft, antique and character stores.
